Last week, I went to the box in my desk at home that holds cards and stationary in hopes of finding a card for my father-in-law’s birthday. Sadly, my little collection was really lacking and I had to use a boring, blank card that didn’t really fit the occasion. I’m hoping, over the next month or so, to build up a collection that I can feel confident about so that when the next occasion arises, I’ll be prepared with a unique card that I’m excited to give. Here are some of my favorites, designed by artists and independent studios:

First Row: bearded friend $3.95 via red cap cards // party squirrels $3.95 via red cap cards // yee-haw puppet $5 via egg press
Second Row: allo allo by darling clementine $4.50 via little otsu // good luck card $3.50 via deadweight // dad card $3.75 via quill and fox
Third Row:  baby card mint $4 via rifle paper co. // thank you card 10pcs. $17.50 via quill and fox // here comes the bride $3.95 via red cap cards

And a couple of assorted sets to make shopping a little easier:

blooms and branches collection $15 via the black apple // assorted birthday set $16 via rifle paper co.

Admittedly, I have A LOT of cards on my wish list, but I think I’ve managed to narrow it down to a few favorites. I’d love to know, what are your favorite sources for greeting cards?

Today is the 2nd day of May and the 1st day for the new papernstitch exhibition! Can you believe that it is almost the middle of the year already? Crazy how fast time has flown by.

There are plenty of new exhibitors to check out, and a brand new guide for unique Mother’s Day gifts. So I hope you’ll head over and give some of these great shops some love.

Speaking of shops… One of the shops that I think you’ll really like is called Hazel Wonderland, a custom art, illustration, design and calligraphy shop run by Meredith C. Bullock. You can read more about the artist and her shop here (she was a featured seller on Etsy just last month).

All of my favorite pieces at Hazel Wonderland involve calligraphy, a skill that I will always admire (but will never have myself) which Meredith started getting paid for at the age of 16! I love her story. Can you tell?

Meredith also sells custom stamps which can be used for gift tags, cards, even business cards….

Yep, that’s a stamp above!

I know you love custom business cards and clearly, so do I! Which is why I am excited to share a little biz card project I’ve been working on with online printing resource, UPrinting (plus a giveaway for you – but I’ll get to that in a minute)…

I already have a stack of standard business cards that I use for conferences and events, but I wanted an alternative design that I could include with freebies and packages that are a little more fun and memorable. That’s the whole point of business cards anyway, right?

So I worked with UPrinting and designed a custom die-cut circle card that could pull double duty. I am really happy with how they turned out and the print quality is perfect, even with me at the helm (I am not the best designer and have been known to mess up formats and pixel dimensions in the past when it comes to business cards).

Here’s how they turned out…

And here’s how I plan to use them at networking events and craft shows, etc…

Kind of fun, huh? And speaking of fun, it’s time for a giveaway!

UPrinting is generously giving away a set of custom die-cut business cards (which come in lots of different shapes, not just circles) to three very lucky winners. Yay!

Here are the giveaway details…

It’s not very often that my to-do list is completely cleared when the weekend rolls in, but this weekend the weather was so, so nice and everything was already crossed off my list of to-dos. So Jeff and I took Luna to the dog park and did a lot of walking around (soaking up the sun).

Now that it’s Monday again, my list is piling back up, but that’s fine by me.

I actually like planning out my week, and I am kind of a paper freak, so notes and to-do lists get me excited.

Which leads me to you… I am hoping you share my affinity for paper because I have a little Monday inspiration to share this morning, thanks to Miki.o Stationery and Paper Goods.

I am not a big Easter girl, but I am a big card girl – I try to send out cards for every holiday to my family. Just as a way to touch base and let them know I am thinking of them.

I don’t know if I am going to get around to Easter cards this year, but if I do, it will be these bad boys from Inkprint Letterpress that I end up sending.

I love the colors. Not too Easter-y, which is perfect for me.

Of course, if you are not looking for holiday cards, there are plenty of other letterpress goodies to check out there. And right now, you will receive 15% off  your entire order at Inkprint Letterpress using the code  PprNStitch15  at checkout. *Offer not valid when combined with other offers.

The people I consider to be my closet friends and colleagues right now are the ones that I have only met in person a handful of times. That may sound like a weird thing to say, but just because I don’t meet up with these ladies in person for drinks doesn’t mean we don’t talk.

Oh we talk! On Skype, via email, and on the phone.

Occasionally, I’ll even send ‘em some snail mail. Admittedly, I haven’t been good about sending thank you cards and notes in the mail lately because I have been so dang busy (and I don’t always remember), but I plan to get back on track with that soon because of Sent Well.

Here’s the deal: You can buy greeting cards (the letterpress section is my fav) from Sent Well the old fashioned way and have the blank cards shipped to your house OR you can have them send your cards out for you – they will write your personal message out by hand (yes- handwritten), address the envelope, stamp it, and send your card in the mail to it’s recipient.

How awesome is that?

So, I’ve been playing around with some of the cards that the owner, Nicole, graciously sent me and I wrote a few letters that I’ve been putting off for far too long….

I want you to test the process out as well and see how it works, so one lucky winner will get to do just that…

Enter the Sent Well Winner’s Choice Giveaway!

Nicole is giving away a winner’s choice package to one lucky papernstitch winner here on the blog! That winner will receive a total of 10 cards of his/her choosing from Sent Well (whether you want them sent blank to you at your doorstep to use later OR you want to have Sent Well mail them out for you – shipping included for the winner free of charge). International entries welcome!

—> All you have to do to enter is leave a comment below and tell me who you’ve been meaning to send a snail mail card to lately.

That’s it! This giveaway will close Wednesday, April 4th at 11:59pm EST. International entries welcome. **Bonus entries for tweets and facebook shares (just use the buttons below).

The winner will be announced on the blog Friday, April 6th. UPDATE 4/6: A giveaway winner has been chosen! Congrats to Amie Mccracken – you have won the Sent Well giveaway! Thank you to all you entered.
