Today is the 2nd day of May and the 1st day for the new papernstitch exhibition! Can you believe that it is almost the middle of the year already? Crazy how fast time has flown by.
There are plenty of new exhibitors to check out, and a brand new guide for unique Mother’s Day gifts. So I hope you’ll head over and give some of these great shops some love.
Speaking of shops… One of the shops that I think you’ll really like is called Hazel Wonderland, a custom art, illustration, design and calligraphy shop run by Meredith C. Bullock. You can read more about the artist and her shop here (she was a featured seller on Etsy just last month).
All of my favorite pieces at Hazel Wonderland involve calligraphy, a skill that I will always admire (but will never have myself) which Meredith started getting paid for at the age of 16! I love her story. Can you tell?
Meredith also sells custom stamps which can be used for gift tags, cards, even business cards….
Yep, that’s a stamp above!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, so if your mom lives out of town (and you have to ship a gift to her), it is time to get on it!
Need help finding a gift?

I don’t know what the weather is like where you are, but here in St. Louis, warm days are here to stay. If you go out after 5 p.m., the neighborhood is crawling with kids on bikes, people walking their dogs and people gathered at the park, practicing for the upcoming softball leagues. It’s this time of year that has me looking out my window like a sad puppy, just wanting to get outside and have some fun instead of working away at my desk.
One of my favorite outdoor activities revolves, like most things, around friends and food, and that’s picnics. What’s better than gathering with friends at your favorite park, spreading a blanket on the grass, and loading it up with homemade pasta salad, sandwiches, sweet treats and something to wash it all down? Well, I’m gonna be honest with you: I can’t think of anything, except maybe spicing up that get-together with one of these adorable DIYs. Go on and make some memories this summer.

Good morning. I have a little sunshine to start your day in the form of Tucker Reece - filled with handmade pieces (graphic prints + home decor accessories) by Jenna Graviss.
Pretty fun stuff, huh?
And speaking of fun stuff… time to get your discount on! Receive 10% off your order at Tucker Reece with the coupon code PNS10 at checkout.
I’ve done a lot of DIYs with polymer clay – mostly home decor related though. So when I saw what Hana Brewster from A Quiet Curiosity has been dreaming up lately, I got a little excited.
Hana makes colorful jewelry – specifically necklaces – from clay and an occasional piece of leather. Some of the clay is painted, while others are stamped to create interesting textures. Really cute shop. You should check it out…

Pouches are everywhere and for good reason. A small bag is my go-to on the weekends, offering my shoulder a nice break from my work bag. They’re also effective in keeping smaller items together in a bigger bag when traveling or scooting around town. Here are a few shop that I think do the “pouch” best.

Made in Lithuania, these screen printed leather bags by Coriumi ($52) come in the most interesting geometric and Navajo inspired patterns.

Inspired by bohemian beach style in Mexico, Canadian-brand Scout & Catalogue ($44-74) uses hand dyed fabrics and the softest distressed leather to create one of kind, unique pieces that have a definitely boho cool factor.

You can’t go wrong with a simple, clean design in a wide variety of colors like these pouches by Rennes (pronounced “wren”, like the bird) . I also like the different leather options available ($44-130).
Made from heavyweight duck canvas, the toughness of these utilitarian pouches by LayerXLayer ($59-$65) are softened by hand stamped polka dots.

Screen printed leather pouches by Falconwright ($20-52) are made in small batches and they sell out fast! These bags are an amazing example of what happens when two designers from different disciplines (paper and jewelry) collaborate to come up with something totally new.

If you’re looking for a bag with a little more glitz, Gift Shop Brooklyn ($39-88) has some great metallic and sequin options.

Fun, bold, geometric patterned bags by French shop Pamplemouss ($15-29) are perfectly on trend and have a retro feel that I love.

Designed using textiles from around the world (this one is made from a kimono), Grace Design ($44-98) carries some very pretty options.
As you can see, there are a lot of designers creating some pretty awesome pouches. Do you see any you like? Are there other options that you’d like to share (I’d love to add some more faves to my list)!?

Get ready for more spring blooms, with today’s shop of the day, Amu and Pri.
You know I love flowers. But what about you? Are you a flower fan? Let me know in the comments below.
Straight from Amu and Pri… All my flowers are handmade from scratch – I hand cut the petals, seal the edges and then stitch them together to handmade cluster of pearls, glass beads or rhinestones. This is my hobby, so I don’t stick to factory made like flower designs, I like to experiment on different fabrics. All designs are my own designs.
Visit Amu and Pri now for silk blooms of your very own.
