I’ve been getting some last minute things for Alt recently (new top, accessories, and shoes) to make sure I am looking half as cute as all the other ladies that will be at the conference this year, and I have been on a serious jewelry hunt! The perfect necklace I asked for for Christmas sold out before Jeff had a chance to snag one and I have been searching for something else ever since.

So I’ve been favoriting quite a bit of jewelry lately, needless to say, and one of the shops I am loving is called giantLION. These simple seed bead necklaces and bracelets are all the rage right now (I am seeing them popping up everywhere) and I really like the pieces that the designer, Caroline Whittington, has been dreaming up. Definitely a shop to check out.

P.S. If you’re not big on the seed bead trend, Caroline has other styles of jewelry available as well.

I’ve found more mantras to decorate your space today. Alexia of Ruggles Made combines the touch of two “old school” technologies, a cursive typewriter and cross-stitch, to create her one of a kind small art. Housed in their little hoops, a special phrase could be on its way to you. Or a friend, if you’re still in the giving mood. Bonus: Take 10% off your order with code PAPERNSTITCH!

It is hard to believe winter hasn’t even started with some of the temps that we’ve been seeing around here. While I’m lucky the icicles and whipping winds have held off, it makes me a little dreamy for winter scenes. Think bundled strangers going to and fro + crazy crystals hanging low, threatening danger to all who cross under their path. For now, I’ll indulge in the treats from Urban Revisions to give me my winter fix. The hand shredded scarves look mighty toasty!

Featuring hand knotted jewelry, with colorful and clean lines, Osage Orange Studio has necklaces + bracelets that are just the right amount of fancy to get you through the week.  I love what Linda, the designer behind the line, has to say about her designs, “My goal is to achieve a beautiful color combination with the materials I use. I’ve always loved playing with color and working with the subtleties between different shades. My jewelry is influenced by my background in design and tends to be simple and minimal with a sense of order.” And something else simple just for you: Enjoy free shipping when you enter code papernstitch!

It is the littlest things that we miss in the hustle of every day. That’s why Germany-based photographer Julie Davis stopped me in my tracks this morning with her dreamy, nature photos, capturing the smallest details of life in the moment. She has frozen the elements of her surroundings so I can stop and enjoy them in the midst of my never ending to-do list.

Mondays can be a little rough here. Add to that the gray, rainy weather outside and I’m ready to call it a day by lunch. My remedy to cheer up and keep going? Keep it simple: a t-shirt, jeans, and a few pops of color. By way of Toronto glass designer Penny, I have found an eyeful today in her shop Penny Glass Girl. Any of the pieces in her shop would make a lovely addition to a basic outfit and help kick start the week. For me, this mustard + gray bracelet along with some candy colored bobbies just made the sun break through.
