It has become clear during my time here at paper n stitch that I have a serious, uncontrollable, completely bizarre lighting fetish. So, today, for my last Found On post, I felt it was only appropriate to once again revisit the topic of, oh, 85% of my finds – lighting.
Honestly, when I saw Ivy Xposed by Neffa featured on Design Milk, I was just plain confused. Is it a plant? Is it a lighting fixture? Is it some sort of art installation? The answer – all three. Neffa aims to find creative combinations for interiors, allowing products to serve more than one function. This lamp features cut-away artwork, and is perfect for training the ivy. You decide how far you let the ivy grow out, subsequently choosing whether you’d like to emphasize the plant or lamp aspect of the piece.
It’s been a pleasure sharing my finds with you over the past year. Thank you for listening to me blather on about lamps, ceramics, lamps, and more lamps. I’ll still be posting over at my personal blog, but will be trying to remain sane as I continue working full time, teaching dance classes, moving in with my fiance, and getting married in October!
Thanks for reading along!

Looking for a simple and completely gratifying summer project? Here you go. Thanks to PS I Made This for the perfect, quick warm-weather DIY. All you need is a cheap pack of men’s undershirts (you know, the really soft ones that you always steal from your guy?) Cut a few up. Scrunch. Pin. Sew. Voila. A delightfully re-imagined basic white tee turned glamorous. Now, go craft!
Happy Tuesday!

Now that I’m in the midst of a heavy-duty apartment hunt, I’m hyper aware of any space-saving, yet aesthetically-pleasing, decorating ideas. I saw The Dots by Muuto on decor8, and thought they’d be the perfect way to spruce up bare walls, AND find a place to hang stray clothing pieces. Because really. Is there EVER such a thing as enough closet space?

According to the designer, “This characterful little family of hooks is a friendly addition to any wall. The Dots are proud of their round edges and will treat your clothes with the greatest care. They will also let you arrange them on your wall in the pattern you like. Being a very social set of hooks, The Dots love to welcome other Dots to join them on the wall. The only thing The Dots demand from you is that you uncover them every now and then and admire their shape and material.”
Too cute. I like accessories with sass.
Happy Tuesday!

Pssst – Muuto also has some really fun colorful pendant lights!
When I saw Jorine’s ceramics over on pretty pretty paper (specifically, the Tea Time set), all I could think of was Lumiere prancing about singing Be Our Guest in Beauty & the Beast. And clearly I’m not alone, because the designer herself says: ”Tea Time is a high tea set based on characters. Build up to be a family. Each piece has its own identity. With their character-like look they seem to come alive, living their lives on the table like soldiers in a little nation. Creating surrealistic moments like in Alice in Wonderland.”
In addition to the whimsical tribe of tea things, there’s the curvy Cafe Pompose coffee set, representing a little caffeinated family…
The obscenely clever T(r)eacups, with their adorable tree trunk legs…

And finally, for the mischievous hostess who really wants to get a laugh out of her guests, the Snout cups!
As a bride to be, I have to say… all of these unique ceramic pieces make it VERY tempting to ditch the standard big box store registries and fill my cupboards with an amazing handmade selection!
Happy Tuesday!

I so do NOT need ANOTHER design shop to bookmark on my computer and lust after lamp after lamp after lamp. But I saw this Coffee-Light on be blushless and thought it was too cute to keep to myself.
Turns out that Connox is chock full of lustworthy lamps. They’re just slightly off center enough to make a statement, without being overwhelming or gaudy.
I love the dual nature of the coffee cup/lamp and flowerpot/light. It’d definitely make me do a doubletake if that’s what I saw when I walked in a room.

The innocent little cyclamen plant that I desperately tried to keep alive at work has finally met a sad and disastrous end. When I got to my cubicle this morning it was a withered brown shell of it’s former self. Alas. Perhaps I should stick with cut flowers in pretty vases from now on. And first up – the Love is Blind Vase by Jessica Marie Lertvilai, available on Supermarket. Apparently M-Dashing is to vases, as I am to lighting – and the lady has some nice taste in vases.
Jessica collected love letters, transcribed them into Braille, and then transferred them in relief pattern onto the surface of the vase. Aka – wow. ”The Love is Blind project is both a coded pattern and an abstract pixilated painting. The attempt is to show the crossing of boundaries that exists between language, art and design.”
I love when design merges with a deeper meaning.
Have a lovely week!

I’ve seen some of Coulson Macleod’s art prints floating around Blog Land before, but I just fell in love with “Nobody put’s Baby in a corner” via Her Name Was Lola.

I’ve always been a fan of typographic art, and am always a sucker for good love quotes. That makes these simple and stylish prints a perfect combination of my favorite things.
Maybe it’s the English major in me, but I just love the idea of hanging words on my walls. Language can be so beautiful, and when it’s presented so nicely, it makes a perfect addition to a room, don’t you think?
Have a great week!
