So have you heard of Julia Pott yet? She’s been around the blogworld quite a bit since I’ve been around these parts, and I’ve loved her work from the very beginning. She’s a fantastic, London-based illustrator and animator. Like, really fantastic.

The very first thing I ever bought on Etsy was this print, and now I can’t stop. I’ve bought at least three or four more prints, cards, and stickers from her shop, and now I’m seriously coveting these pillows of hers.

She’s done a music video for Casiotone & The Painfully Alone, and a really great video about first crushes. And all of them are just so lovely. I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to show you!

So go ahead and check out her amazing Flickr and YouTube, and then also her awesome blog and Twitter.

This week’s fantastic fantasticness is all about Kate Pugsley. Her art makes me so happy! So simple and sweet. Love this Mermaid Girl print.

And everyone I know has felt like Paper Bag Head Girl on one occasion or another. Kate uses her gocco printer to print the black lines of the prints and fills in the details with watercolors. I love the simple effect that it gives them. Like they’re illustrations right out of your head, managing with few lines and few colors to describe the whole range of your emotions. I am quite partial to this, as you can see. I very much like being able to see something about the human condition illustrated for me. It makes everything a bit more…bearable?

So. Now that you know a bit too much about me, go check out Kate Pugsley’s etsy shop!

Alberto Cerriteno is one of my all-time favorite artists. His work is whimsical, yet mature. Balanced, yet chaotic. It’s very hard to describe, but intensely beautiful nonetheless.

The colors and the detail are always what draw me to art, and Alberto’s lacks in neither. Each piece screams for your attention, and frankly, that’s just the way i like it.

Check out Alberto Cerriteno’s shop, blog, flickr, and website. There now. And you thought you had no plans tonight?

Mon Petite Fantome is a great illustration and papercut shop that I found this week. Fantastic and incredibly detailed illustrations of bears and owls (both are a current obsession).

And some great prints of original paper cuts, which I am fascinated by. Love the composition and themes. Her artwork has titles like “Minerva Tuffy Pines for Albert” (the owl above), & “Master Ludwig is Afraid to Be Alone” (the bear above). And these wonderful little papercuts? Can’t. Get. Enough.

(“Take Me With You” print)

(“I Do Not Know Where We Are Going But At Least We Are Together” print)

So that does it for this week. Check out Mon Petit Fantome’s shop on etsy. There’s much more than just these few! You won’t be disappointed!

I can’t remember where I found Jen Skelley’s work for the first time, but it’s floating around the blogosphere for the last few days and I can’t stop thinking about it. Her paisley-ish bird prints make me smile, and she has done gig posters for the likes of The Decemberists and The Mountain Goats (two of my favorite bands!) so when I got to her shop and saw those two, I knew I had found something fantastic! :D

She also does custom hand-drawn monogram prints (for only $10!), which remind of antique children’s book illustrations and typography and would be a great gift for anyone that’s got a wedding coming up or as a house warming gift.

(and I just can’t get enough of these birds….there’s lots of them!)

So check out the Jen Skelley print shop and her lovely blog, too!

Have a fantastic week!

I’m absolutely LOVING these intricate prints by etsy seller OSoo. They’re just so gorgeous in their neutral tones and detailed bits.

I just found this shop this week, and I don’t know much about it, and it’s pretty new (only 7 sales!). Show it some love! Awesome art at awesome prices. What more could you ask for?

I’m thinking this one will look great in our new bedroom, we’re planning a mustard yellow and soft green color scheme! It’ll be perfect!

Check out the OSoo shop here
and have a fantastic day!
