Workstation Wednesday

Last week, I was searching through Apartment Therapy and I found an amazing office that I thought looked familiar. And in deed it was! It’s the office space of friend of papernstitch, Dee Adams. I would do almost anything for a workspace this bright and organized. I love it.

More about the home owner: When Dee isn’t multi-tasking as an interiors consultant, artist, and  senior producer at Yahoo, she is busy writing on her blog, DeeDee9:14.

Wednesday Workstation

It’s been a while since our last Wednesday Workstation post, since we’ve been doing a lot of home and studio tours lately. So today, we are taking a little peek at Afi’s (of Joo Joo) workspace. It’s so organized and inspiring. Don’t you think?

Afi was recently a featured seller on etsy for her other shop, Joo Joo Land. Read the interview here.

Visit Joo Joo on etsy to view her original artwork and prints.

Wednesday Workstation

turquoise desk

I love the turquoise walls and empty picture frames in Erika’s workspace. And how about those suitcases? Great storage solutions. You can find more images from her workspace, or creative space, as she calls it, visit Crafty Hues.

Wednesday Workstations

workspaces

It has been a long time since the last edition of Wednesday Workstations. I am hoping to get on a more consistent schedule in 2010…starting now. So, I rounded up a couple of my favorite workspaces from 2009. See you tomorrow.

A Neutral Backdrop

inspiring house tour

In leu of Wednesday Workstations this week, I wanted to feature something (I think) is equally inspiring. Yesterday, I was looking for some home inspiration and found this house tour from Apartment Therapy (home of Kelly Colchin and Jonathan Skaggs). Great mix of new and vintage furniture and a neutral backdrop for brightly colored accents to shine. View the entire house tour on Apartment Therapy here.

Wednesday Workspace

workspace

I apologize for dropping the ball last week on Wed. Workspace, but it was my husband’s birthday and so I was gone all day celebrating with him and it just completely slipped my mind. To make up for it, I have rounded up two times the workstations for this one! Hope you enjoy them…

workspace

Even a slightly cluttered workspace can look clean and tiddy if there’s not a lot of color distraction. Using a palette of mostly white will help make your space feel fresh and calming. Add an accent color to a section of your office or studio to bring in definition and a focal point (like that beautiful fireplace).

workspace2

Here’s another example of an all white palette. The painted, white wood floors make a small space feel larger.

workspace1If whites feel to cold for your space, try adding warmer tones in unexpected areas (meaning not the wall color). Rustic, vintage touches can help to make your workspace feel homey and comfortable. Try a wood desk and chair or some kind of hanging wall accent to bring in the warmth you are looking for.

Orange Office (done right)

2008-04-03-3workspaceToday’s Wednesday workstation is all about color in moderation. These side by side workspaces are a great example of how to introduce color to a room. The whole office feels so warm and bright. With a color like orange, which can sometimes be overpowering in a room, it is usually best to be selective. This office strikes the perfect balance by bringing small pops of orange in through various accessories around the room. And when you get tired of the color, you can easily switch the pieces out (or paint over them) with a fresh hue for an entirely different look.
