Happy Halloween! I didn’t want to make today about pumpkins and candy, but I still have something sweet for you…
Photography week on Papernstitch! Every day this week, starting today, I’ll be featuring a different (and equally amazing) photography shop. *And if you are a photography lover, be sure to check out the ultimate photography gift guide as well.
And today’s photography shop is Tidbits, which is run by Karla Diaz Cano, a Mexico-born artist currently living in Miami. I thought Karla’s work was a great way to kick off this week. And I hope you’ll head over to her shop and check out her collection of prints.

Altoids’ tins + arts and crafts have always gone hand in hand, from homemade wallets to handy catch-alls for this and that, all the way to large scale creations. Now they are coming together to raise funds for an amazing charity that is focused on advancing arts and arts education in America, Americans for the Arts.
“Dedicated to creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts, we focus on three primary goals: fostering an environment in which the arts can thrive, generating more public- and private-sector resources for the arts and arts education, and building individual appreciation of the value of the arts.”
To help gain awareness for the charity, some relics from Altoids’ legendary past will be available in their Hall of Curiosity via auction. Check out the amazing stories behind the collection and bid to win a part of Altoids’ history, with all the proceeds going to the Americans for the Arts.

Recommendation for weekend browsing…
Mengsel on Etsy: Hand pulled silkscreen prints and home textiles by Luzelle van der Westhuizen. She is always adding new pieces like the swan pillow, which is one of my favorites; and revamping her staples, like the Moka Express prints.
But honestly, I’ve talked about Luzelle’s work so many times here on the blog, I am running out of things to say that don’t involve the words “awesome” and “love”. So I’ll just say that you should definitely check out Mengsel on Etsy over the weekend before I zip my lips until Monday…

Have a great weekend. Catch you on Monday bright and early.

I don’t know about you, but Halloween certainly crept up on me this year. Only three days stand between us and swarms of cute, costumed kids, and while I’ve got the main ingredient for successful trick or treating (the candy), our decor is severely lacking! So, if you’re like me and don’t want to be dubbed the “lame” house on the block, I suggest we concentrate our crafty efforts on the front porch and the pumpkins that will grace it.
For ultimate thriftiness (and I’m sure some added stress, ha) I’m waiting until Monday morning to snatch up my gourds because the prices are always really low. So since time will be of the essence, I’ve rounded up five fast (but super cute) pumpkin projects that will transform your porch…

I am always hunting for another purse or clutch to go with this or that. Sometimes I feel like the crazy bag lady: hoarding totes, messengers, and hobos like your kooky old neighbor that lives down the street. Every neighborhood has one. So yep, I AM that one in my ‘hood.
Now I am sure you are not nearly as obsessed as I am, but I have a feeling you have a tiny bit of that in you too. So let’s sit down and talk about Milk & Honey Handbags. Shall we?
From what I can tell every handmade clutch, tote, messenger, and coin purse from Milk & Honey is vegan friendly, number one (which is great!). And each piece in the collection is made for everyday use: simple but still totally stylish.
I love ‘em! And I am pretty sure you will too.

After today’s amazing tutorial from Katherine, I just have to share a little more housewares inspiration before the day is over…
Arizona artisan Christine Tenenholtz caught the clay bug right after college, after earning a degree in Fine Art Photography. Nearly twenty years later, her part-time hobby has turned in to far more than just that. And with over 2,600 sales on Etsy, Red Hot Pottery is surely living up to its name. Don’t you love that?
Here are a few of my favs…
