So last week, I was on the road for four days. Driving across the country from Florida to Seattle. Yeah! We are now in Seattle! The road trip was a lot of fun (we stopped at Mount Rushmore along the way), but also really tiring because we had to drive over 3,000 miles.

So one of the things Jeff and I did to keep our energy up was eat (way to many) sweets and other snack food. It was awesome. I have a mega sweet tooth anyway and this just gave me an excuse to go crazy.

Anyway, I thought that once our road trip ended, I would be sick of sweets and snacks, but that didn’t happen. Maybe its the fact that Halloween is so close, but now that I am getting settled in to my new place, I am still craving sugar. BUT not the kind that you pick up at a rest stop on a cross-country trip. I want the good stuff: the homemade kind.

And because I don’t really cook or bake at this point, I may be turning to a shop like Nicole’s Homemade Treats, which is a delicious, made-from-scratch sweets shop filled with all natural, preservative free products. Organic ingredients are used in each recipe as much as possible and all treats are prepared in small batches, to preserve the taste and quality. At Nicole’s Homemade Treats, all chocolate is certified kosher, and dark/milk chocolates are also vegan.

I am drooling. Are you?

Chocolate licorice? Oh, my!

Welcome to Seattle, Brittni! Too bad it’s a rainy day today but hope you enjoyed some of last week’s beautiful weather. And it will be lovely again – autumn is great here.

just catching up on my blog reading!!

congrats on your move brittni – i think you’ll love seattle. i’ve moved back and forth betw vancouver, bc (where i live now) and portland, iowa, and a coupla other places so i’ve been going to seattle since i was a small child – sometimes just driving through, sometimes staying a couple days.

from my experience you’ll get used to the rain, and absolutely fall in love with the natural beauty of the pacific northwest, and it’s unique culture if you haven’t already!

the weather in vancouver *just* changed for the year, so i imagine it’s the same in seattle… if you don’t have rainboots and hiking boots they are great to have for ensuring you get out even on the cloudy days – hopefully winter this year will not be too rainy, and you’ll be too busy exploring your new city to even notice it! i hope you feel settled in very soon and it begins to feel like home :)

[...] hasn’t traveled (I have a few stamps on my passport and a whole lot of miles on the car from our cross-country road trip), but I am not going to pout about it because Jeff and I are getting our butts in gear… [...]
