I have never been a car-girl, but the Vitamini shop is making me wonder if I could be. This shop is stocked with anything and everything Mini Cooper you can think of: tote bags, pillows, tea towels, coasters, prints…you get the point.
Now, I realize vintage cars may seem like a strange subject for an entire shop, but it makes perfect sense once you know designer Casey Stark’s background…
When I was a little girl, my uncle, a british car collector, brought home an interesting little car. It was absolutely tiny, and lucky for me, I was tiny too. I could stand up inside… That little car was a 1964 Mini Cooper – british racing green with a white top. Since then, I’ve been a lover of all things Mini.
Pretty cool, huh? I love it when designers use their childhood as inspiration in their adult life. And speaking of pretty cool…

Appropriately went to my first Papernstitch post to select today’s image.
You’re stressed. You’re not where you want to be with your creative business. Your to-do lists are killing you, they are never-ending. It feels like you’re working on overdrive and never moving ahead.
Today’s creative business tip is an important one. I need you to stop and do this with me right now.
Go back to the first craft you ever made. Read your first blog post. Look at your humble beginnings. You’ve come a long way! You’ve been working hard every day and it’s paid off. You’ve improved, you’ve gotten yourself out there a little more every day and made connections.
All of the business tips I provide are steps you take to help your business grow over time. You won’t explode into an international success overnight. It may take years to get where you want to be. Slow down and admire how far you’ve come…and enjoy the journey!

I’ve been keeping a couple of secrets lately. And I am so excited to be able to spill the beans on one of those secrets right now. It’s just a little news… News that Jeff and I are super excited about!
We are packing our bags and traveling cross country soon because…
We’re moving to Seattle!
…in just a few weeks! It’s been kind of a whirlwind, but I am thrilled to be moving to the west coast. We’ll be headed to “The Evergreen State” sometime in mid-September.
Everything will remain the same at Papernstitch (blog and exhibition site). We’ll just be in a new place. A place with a vibrant arts and crafts community and lots more. Can you tell I’m excited?
Now, since I’m moving to a totally new state, I need a teensy tiny bit of help…
Do you live in Seattle? If you live nearby, give me a little shout in the comments below. I’ve only been to Seattle a few times, so any tips you can share would be greatly appreciated (events, shopping, great food, etc). And if you’re looking to squeeze a new friend into your crew there, I’d love to meet up when I get settled in. Have a cup of coffee or a cupcake or something?
Designer, Moe Erin Donnelly, stocks her Etsy shop Sew Moe with playful, stylish clothing for women.
I am always impressed by the designs Moe dreams up. There is something a tiny bit whimsical about every (sewn by hand) piece, especially her newest tops and bottoms. Love the background in her most recent photo shoot too. What do you think of it?
Special offer for the remainder of August: The Sweet Seventeen dollar Sweater! This month, these sweaters from Sew Moe are being sold at 70% off (which is a savings of $40!). Only a couple days left on this special offer. So hurry over.

Before I head out for the weekend, I wanted to leave you with a few diy projects to try. I am thinking a lot about home decor projects lately because (surprise) we are moving in just a few weeks. I’m super excited to have a new place to decorate and start fresh, but I’ll get into the details of that next week.
For now, let’s talk diy…
1. I know I said I am thinking about home decor projects, and this five minute pincushion ring isn’t exactly in that category, but I HAD to sneak it in here. If you make this you’ll automatically feel more crafty and inspired. I promise.
2. At the top of my list this week is this chevron picnic blanket diy from Twig and Thistle. Just bring it indoors after the picnic is over and reuse it wherever you’d like.
3. Make the simple coasters ever with Smile and Wave. I am practically hitting my head against the wall over not thinking of this myself. Clever project.
4. Showcase freshly-picked flowers from your garden with these diy paper lantern vases. Martha is killin’ it with the craft projects lately.
5. Don’t throw away those old doorknobs! Reuse those discarded parts to make a creative coat rack in your entryway.
6. And speaking of reusing…dig through your drawers and find those old paint swatches. It’s time to add some color to your walls with a little abstract art project.
