I am feeling chatty, so let’s make “small talk” with illustrator Alyssa Nassner…
Because Small Talk, you see, is actually the name of Alyssa’s online shop, where you’ll find amazing illustrations, delightful prints, hand sewn housewares, and more.
Here are a few more details about Shop Talk…
All items are made with love, and Alyssa strives to keep her products colorful, fun, and affordable. It is Alyssa’s ultimate goal to brighten someone’s day, and add a bit of fun to the home or work space.
Well, mission accomplished Alyssa because your work definitely brings a smile to my face. Especially these three things…

I know that you are the type of gal who likes to visit indie fairs and pop-up shops around your area, and you may even want to participate in a few.
That’s why I am telling you about Fizz & Frills: a wedding marketplace that is popping up for two days only (August 6th and 7th) in San Francisco that will be featuring talented designers and makers like you.
For more info about becoming a vendor at Fizz & Frills, click here.
I am pretty excited about this event. In fact, I am so excited, I am actually sponsoring the event. So, I know this wedding marketplace is going to be amazing. Makes me want to get married all over again.
BONUS: I’ll actually be in town for the event because I am speaking at the Conference of Creative Entrepreneurs the day before (more on that some other time), so I’ll be popping in to visit and say hi if you’re planning on going or being a vendor. I’d love to meet you.
If you are interested in being a vendor at Fizz & Frills, there is still time to apply (but not much, so you have to hurry!). You can actually apply to be a vendor for both days or just one- whatever you prefer. Space is very limited however (only 20 vendors per day will be chosen), so be sure to submit your work asap if you’d like to be considered.
Here are more details about Fizz & Frills…
Fizz & Frills is the first ever wedding marketplace, hosted by Utterly Engaged with Lovely Jubilee and Blu Bungalow. Not the typical bridal event, fizz & frills is a 2-day shopping event where you can shop from a fine selection of independent designers and artisans, curated with love, to give brides and frill seekers the rare chance to indulge in their products firsthand.
All the details for becoming a vendor can be found on the Sellers F.A.Q. page. And if you know you’d like to submit already, you will just need to fill out the vendor application form by JULY 6, 2011.
For more general inquiries, visit the Fizz & Frills homepage.
First, I’d like to wish you a very happy Fourth of July! Hope you had your fill of summer sun and hot dogs (or vegan dogs) over the weekend.
Jeff and I are actually heading over to the beach tonight to see the fireworks. But for now, I am fully immersed in the new exhibition. Drooling and daydreaming…
Head on over when you get a chance and share the love with the twitter and facebook buttons at the bottom of this post if you like what you see.

From the new exhibition. Top. Hand Dyed Jersey Necklace and Waterburst Placemats Set
Bottom. Large Multi Colour Good Will Bunting and Britt Necklace
And on another note… Today’s shop of the day is Freshie & Zero, the classic, modern jewelry line of Beth Lawrence. Beth’s pieces are really perfect for everyday wear- hanging out by the pool or lounging at the bar after work. Great for July 4th then, right?
Beth has actually been making jewelry since she was ten years old! So, needless to say, this gal really knows what she is doing. You can read more about Beth on Freshie & Zeros about page. But before you head over, be sure to take a mental note of this awesome discount from Beth (20% off!)…
Enjoy 20% off at Freshie & Zero: Now through July 10th, receive 20% off your order at www.freshieandzero.com with coupon code PnS at checkout.
If you are celebrating July 4th with a long weekend (and maybe a party), I am gonna recommend that you head over to Eat Drink Chic and print these adorable (and free) ice cream tags. Perfect for summer parties.
And while you have crafts on your mind, check out this really cool diy idea for a fourth of July menu and name tags set. Cute idea (from Frolic).
Oh, one last thing related to DIYs- I have another craft roundup on Oh, Hello Friend today: summer craft ideas. Let me know which project is your favorite.
That’s going to do it for this week. I’ll be popping in Monday to show off the new exhibition (which kicks off on July 4th- you can still submit if you are reading this before 10pm EST on Friday), so I hope to “see” you then. Have a great weekend!
Laura Mazurek is an eclectic vintage lover with an old soul. She’s translated her love of vintage treasures with that perfect aged patina into a fresh line she calls Violet Bella. As she says, “My line of jewelry, clothing and art speaks volumes of who I am. I am a lover of nature, a free spirit, an old soul and a constant creator. I adore vintage materials, granny squares, birds and leaves, patina, old keys and found objects. “
The handmade goodies in Violet Bella will speak to your inner bohemian flower child while still being completely wearable and accessible. For a handmade line created by one artist, there’s an overwhelming amount of selection, too! I had to narrow my favorites down to three: this cute sailor girl necklace, a brass owl necklace, and a pretty top made from a vintage pillowcase!
Receive 10% off anything in Violet Bella if you use the exclusive Papernstitch code, ‘papernstitch’ at checkout.
