After my visit to Michigan last week, my brain has fully moved into winter mode. Must have been all that snow on the ground while we were there.
And speaking of snow, have you seen the brand new winter collection from The Home Ground yet? Brittany, the designer at THG, has really outdone herself with yet another classy, simple collection. Nothing too heavy or overdone. Just easy-to-wear pieces that you’ll own (and actually wear) for years to come.
Visit The Home Ground now to view the new winter jewelry collection and previous collections as well. And for news and updates, follow Brittany on twitter @thehomeground.

A few weeks ago on Interior Obsessions with FormFire Glassworks, we took a look at all types of bookshelves as organization in the home. Another clear organizational method is the use of a monochromatic color theme, in this case, white. The new year always brings up concepts of freshness, a clean look, starting over. To me, the white space embodies this feeling.
I have to say that I am immediately drawn to white spaces. Never in a million years could I have an all-white space, both because I am way to messy for it, and because I prefer a warm simplicity in my own living environment. But darn, I am suckered in every time I spy an expanse of white with white accents. Many people think of ‘all-white’ spaces as stark and clinical. But today’s images show that this is not at all the case.
The important thing to remember when designing a white environment is that in general, they aren’t all absolute white. The illusion of a white space is made by the subtle use of neutrals tones, either ranging toward the greys or beiges. This gives differentiation between shades of white, and allows the eye to see the different pieces that make up the whole composition. Another great way to keep an all-white space from looking flat is to vary your textures. Wood slats, linens, furs, anything that gives depth and shadow lines is going to help the eye pick out one item from the rest of the background.
The last image shows that even an all-white space can hide a fun shot of color only visible when doors are open. How do you incorporate white in your home?

I’m going to cut right to the chase… I’ve been working on a free downloadable chart for you (talented, amazing, beautiful) blog readers (who I heart so much) that will help you track your business goals for 2011, as well as a corresponding workbook, which will be available for purchase.
If you follow me on twitter, than you probably already know that, since I tweeted about it yesterday. (If you don’t already follow me on twitter, I’d love it if you did @papernstitch. I always respond to people who tweet me if you want to chat.)
The free download is done and will be available next week. But I am still working on the corresponding workbook. And I want to make it as helpful as possible for you. So, I need your help. All you have to do is answer this question (if you don’t mind)…
What would you personally like to see in this actionable workbook that will help you track your goals? What can I add to this workbook to help you take your business to the next level in 2011?
