If my bedroom was this cozy, I don’t know if I would ever get out of bed. I am planning on doing a lot of sleeping this weekend (I’ve been super tired all week). But before I head out, I have a handful of links to share for your weekend. See you Monday.

-We have a winner for the Renee Anne giveaway. Congratulations papercutworks. Renee has chosen your title, “Henry’s Profile” as the winner. Please email me to collect your prize. And thank you so much Renee for a wonderful giveaway! Please visit Renee Anne on etsy and support this talented artist.

-Also, today is the last day to submit your shop for the fall papernstitch exhibition. All the details can be found here. You can read over our testimonials and press mentions to help you decide. Please note there is a small fee to participate and not all shops who submit are chosen. If this sounds good, Submit now (must be logged in to submit).

-Three simple business lessons from a big shot (and I mean ‘big shot’ in a good way – not a snarky way).

-Do you DIY? Of course you do! Submit your best diy projects to Ruffled blog by October 3rd and you could win $500! All the details are right here. (I found the contest via Creature Comforts. Ez is a guest judge.)

-There is still time to enter to win free goodies for our two most recent giveaways. You don’t want to miss ‘em. Enter to win your choice of any 5 greeting cards from  Navy Blue Notes by clicking here (this giveaway ends soon, so hurry over). And you can also enter to win a beautiful, solid bronze luna moth necklace from Woodland Belle worth more than $70 if you click here.

What are your plans for the weekend?

I am a big fan of chunky accessories right now. And I love these hand knit cowls and scarves from Little Birdie Design Studio. Now that its officially fall, I keep thinking about how great this scarf would look with almost everything I have in my closet. But of course, the tree branch button cowls are pretty cool too. Decisions. Decisions.

Visit Little Birdie Design Studio on etsy to view more of this hand knit collection.

Close friend to papernstitch, Erin of Ekate Designs, has been tirelessly working on opening a gallery in her hometown over this last year. And I am very pleased (and proud) to announce that Erin’s dream has become a reality with the opening of The Orchard Art House this coming weekend (September 25th). This place is packed with beautiful artwork from artists you probably already know (and love) and handmade items as well.

If you live in the greater Excelsior area, please be sure to stop in and say hello and check the wonderful artists and makers who will be displaying their work. All the details are below…

Bring your friends and raise a glass to great local art!

Date: September 25th, 2010, 3-10 pm

When I was in middle school, and even throughout high school, I was fascinated by science. Since then, my interest has trickled away. But when I discovered Contagious about a month back, where you’ll find quite a few pieces inspired by the sciences, I was reminded of those years ago. Instantly, my fond science memories came rushing back.

Definitely a refreshing shop to visit. And with all the jewelry shops out there these days, it is so nice when you find one that is doing something unique. According to Ruth herself (the talent behind Contagious),  ”Muses are everywhere from molecules, mold, and viruses, to the patterns in botany and zoology.” Every piece is designed by Ruth and handmade by her as well from sterling silver, 14 k gold, and occasionally 18k gold.

Visit Contagious on etsy to view the entire jewelry collection.
