Vintage pieces are a great way to infuse your wardrobe with an eclectic, one-of-a-kind style.  Look for pieces with interesting patterns, textures, and colors in classic shapes that will stay in style forever.

1. Pump up the volume with a bright pink suede mini.  The high-waisted pencil shape is classic, but the material and color give it edge.  Skirt from The FAD Pop-Up Shop, $20.

2. This perfectly worn-in leather shoulder bag has beautiful, hand-tooled details.  Bag from Twin Hearts, $42.

3. This smocked floral dress is breezy and bohemian for summer days.  Dress from Old Age Vintage, $48.

4. Swap out your everyday sneakers for a pair of chic, natural jute espadrilles.  Shoes from Dear Golden, $34.

5. A great scarf will never go out of style.  I love the richly colored floral pattern and fringed trim on this one.  Scarf from Verseau Vintage, $16.

6. A military-inspired cardigan in hot pink is simply chic.  Sweater from Bluesy Mod Vintage, $26.

If you follow my weekly posts over on Scoutie Girl, than you know that last week I did a “words to live by” roundup, and I actually have another one going up later today. One of the artist’s in my upcoming SG post is none other than Jen Renninger of Please Be Still.

Jen has an entire series, coincidentally entitled Words To Live By, which is filled with inspirational posters and prints. And these were a few of my favorites, but there are plenty more to look through.

Visit Jen Renninger’s portfolio site and etsy shop, Please Be Still for more inspiration from this amazingly talented artist and illustrator.

This week, I am going to have to skip the weekend links roundup. I have a lot to do before heading out for the weekend, and just couldn’t get everything together in time. Sorry.

If you’re looking for a diy fix, might I suggest you catch up on a few tutorials from the archives? Hope you all have an amazing weekend! See you Monday.

The idea of collecting like objects has been around for centuries: stamps, sewing notions, and postcards are amongst the most popular. But what about those others things that we collect that are just as beautiful, but not as praised?

A handful of talented photographers and artists out there are documenting these more atypical collections, which are spurting up all over the internet now, with projects like A Collection A Day, flickr groups with the collections theme, and even on image bookmarking sites like Pinterest.

Here’s to hoping this idea begins to catch on with more people soon because the photographs coming out of these unusual collections are gorgeous.

Do you collect anything?

I think its safe to say, the bunting craze is here to stay. I personally love it. And so I naturally adore today’s shop of the day on the exhibition site: The Green Gables. I feel like I get bunting fever when I visit this shop. So fun!

And at the risk of using the word bunting for the fourth time (I know, I’m sorry), all I can think about right now are these fabric bunting / garlands and how they would be the perfect end-of-summer party decoration. What do you think?

Special Offer: 20% off everything in The Green Gables etsy shop THIS WEEKEND ONLY! No code necessary. Refund via paypal.

So, hurry on over and visit The Green Gables on etsy to explore more handmade items for you and your home.
