This week, Room by Room with FormFire Glassworks takes a look at Hans Wegner’s CH24 Chair.
Originally created in 1949, the steam-bent hardwood frame of the CH24, often called the “Wishbone Chair,” has been available from Carl Hansen and Son in both stained and painted finishes with a natural or black paper cord seat. A special edition of this chair has been released for the chair’s 60th anniversary with an updated citrus color palette and white cord seat that emphasizes the sinuous lines of the chair frame and brings a strong pop of color to your dining space or living area. What a great way to make a modern statement with a classic piece of furniture!
The spring-like colors of the new line help to remind me that even if we have neutral tones for most of our basic pieces, we can add those shots of bright color to a room through accessories. Candy-colored votives add light and vibrancy, while a set of painted mugs brighten up our day. A two-tone clock makes a strong statement, while a lime glass vase is at once bright and yet subdued. A set of pitchers whose colorful tops slowly fade into a natural ceramic round out the collection.
Next week I will choose a new iconic piece and give you my picks for accessorizing your modern home.
This letter locket necklace and bird bag have really captured my heart this morning. So adorable, and both are total bargains. Would make great gifts for a teen’s b-day or adults (like me) that love quirky little accessories. For links to all of today’s favorites, visit the site.
