Easter is right around the corner, and I couldn’t resist posting this super cute rabbit print from David V Moore, of Papermoth. Each piece is created with hand-drawn and painted elements that are digitally composited. So cute.

This week, Room by Room with FormFire Glassworks takes a look at the PK80 bench by Poul Kjaerholm.

Designed by Kjaerholm in 1957, the PK80 bench distributed by Fritz Hansen is one of a line of sleek and minimal furniture pieces. With a stainless steel base that is visually separated from the slab upholstery top, this piece is light and trim, as comfortable in a sunroom as it is in a gallery or corporate setting. For use as both a bench and a daybed, its low height is a great way to add seating to a room without being visually distracting. Placed center stage or up against a wall, this is a piece that will stand the test of time.

It’s important to note that just because a piece of furniture is in steel and black leather doesn’t mean it requires either cold, austere surroundings or a color-infused bright pop-art type of accessory. A classic piece like this one works just as well with a pared-down monochromatic palette that derives its interest from the texture and tone of natural materials. Touches of a vintage French look in pillows and stone coasters tie in with the black leather without appearing harsh. Linen hangtags and a pieced table runner add a woven look while still echoing the bench’s clean, simple lines. A leather bin holds reading material on a side table for some alone time.

Next week I will choose a new iconic piece and give you my picks for accessorizing your modern home.

After browsing Emma’s blog yesterday, I felt inspired to post a special “granny chic” daily favorites today. It feels very light and spring-ish (I think). This lampshade is so sweet…
