I just love lavender for winter… it lends a romantic and unexpected quality and adds a touch of softness to a heavy, dark, cold-weather wardrobe.

You’ve worked so hard to make sure your customers receive their purchases in time for the holidays. But what about you? You deserve to enjoy the holidays, too! What’s your plan to make sure you enjoy your own holiday season with your family and friends?
I, for one, am pretty tired this week! I’m finishing up holiday orders and moving right on to preparing for the Renegade Holiday Fair in San Francisco this weekend – the first full craft fair that I will be participating in. I think it’s safe to say that I will be even more tired a week from today. But after Renegade … I’m taking a few days off. Not only because Christmas nearly immediately follows, but also because I need to rest and recharge! I want to enjoy my holidays, rather than feel more stressed and even burnt out.
Good morning! Today’s picks are special because its the first day of the new exhibition! Lots of great shops to explore, so head on over when you have some time to browse. For more info on the items above, click here.
Shop of the Day: I know I sound like a broken record always talking about photography. But I just can’t help it- I can’t get enough! And the photographs of Kitty Rogers are right up there in my favorites.

Here’s another one of those visionary architectural projects that just makes you go – wow. Then it makes you go – I think I’d like to live there please.

Spotted over on Dezeen, this 385-metre high masterpiece has been designed by Beijing architects MAD. Slated to be built in Chongqing, China, the skyscraper features gardens at each level and will be called Urban Forest.

Instead of considering the project in standard vertical fashion, the architects envision “a stack of floors, each slice shifted horizontally to create spaces for gardens and patios.”

MAD is striving to determine a way to “engage the city dwellers with an experience of nature when its presence of steadily diminishes in the face of the ever intensifying concrete jungle.”

Have a wonderful weekend!
Kathryn

Shop of the Day: This Seattle-based jewelry collection made by Rachel of Elephantine is quickly becoming a new favorite of mine. As Rachel says, “Each piece is designed to be wearable, pretty, and personal.”
What I love about this collection is that it really can be worn by women of any age. I could easily give one of these pieces to my mom and at the same time pick something up for myself. They are great for everyday, but would also be nice for an understated addition to a cocktail dress, like the one Nicole posted about earlier today.
Special Discount Offer: 10% off for papernstitch customers! Just enter code PAPER10 in notes to seller when checking out.
