I’ve always loved a nautical themed outfit, especially for summer. The classic yet bold color palette of navy and red mixed with timeless stripes and gold accents will always be chic. The patriotic color scheme also makes this look picture perfect for an upcoming holiday… the fourth of July!

1. A casual hoodie with a bold anchor graphic is perfect for lounging. Anchor hoodie by Pretty Raccoon, $37.
2. You’re sure to make a splash in this adorable one-piece swimsuit. Matching sailor cap optional! Sailor swimsuit from Fables by Barrie, $110.
3. This pretty pirate-inspired necklace will set off any nautical themed look. I love the tiny gold anchor charm and the old-school ship locket. Pirata necklace from Tryst by Kerry, $30.
4. Cute, colorful flats are the perfect finishing touch for almost any outfit, and these red and white striped flats are no exception. Striped Flats by Type Z, $29.60 from Overstock.
5. This vintage zig-zag pattern scarf in navy and white is a super chic way to tie together your look. Scarf from Purple Deer Vintage, $15.
6. Sailor jeans are a subtle way to embrace the nautical trend. The medium wash and wide leg on this pair make them a wardrobe staple. Jeans from Express, $29.99.
7. This cardigan is a fun statement piece in a timeless style. Throw it on over jeans or a white sundress for a look that’s casual yet sophisticated. Hamptons cardigan by Plastic Island, $147 from Chick Downtown.

Hi all! Brenda from Phydeaux and Phydelle here, writing on a lovely sunny Summer day. I hope you all enjoyed your first weekend of Summer! Time to start thinking about marketing and promotion for the holidays! You might be thinking that the end of June is far too early to start thinking about the holidays. However, retail buyers are already placing orders for their stores and major retailers already have their own marketing plans finalized for the biggest shopping season of the year. Independent online businesses should be no different – it’s not too late to plan and implement your own holiday “plan of attack.”
I think that many small business owners seize up and go blank when they hear the dread words, “marketing plan.” (Same goes with “business plan.”) I’m going to put your fears to rest by sharing a secret with you: a marketing plan can be as simple as a brief outline. A marketing plan can also be a complex document of many pages, but let’s get our toes wet with something far less scary that will add immediate value in your business. Pull out some paper and a pen for brainstorming as we walk through a few easy steps!

I was so excited when Mackenzi of SITEdesignNYC asked me to team up to bring papernstitch readers some fantastic items at a great price! Items were hand selected by me just for you! Use the discount code PAPER15 and get 15% off any of the totally great items featured here! Here are some of my picks below. Happy shopping!

Since it has been raining in New Jersey for what feels like a zillion miserable years, these sweet little tear drop/rain drop wooden hooks by Asshoff & Brogard could not be more appropriate. Found on emmas designblogg, they come in three sizes, as to create a graphic pattern on the wall. And most importantly, they’re just plain adorable.
Have a delightful weekends my sweets,
