Shop Local

Some of you may know that a couple of years ago I started an online magazine called CREATEjacksonville, that featured local artists and makers from the Jacksonville area. The magazine is no more, but while it was up and running, I really enjoyed promoting and getting to know the people I interviewed and seeing them out at art shows and things. And I have been hoping to feature more Jacksonville artists and artisans here lately.
So, when my future brother-in-law, Joey told me about a local clothing company, Arturo, I was pretty excited. Screen-printed tees are a dime a dozen but Arturo Clothing Co. is a true DIY company. Everything is done by hand! Their shirts are designed, drawn, crafted, printed, and tagged by hand. Their bags are printed, cut, and sewn by hand; and all hats are crocheted one at a time by hand. AND everything in the Arturo shop is SUPER affordable: almost all of the tees are only $15 and that ultra cute dog tote is $12! So, make sure you stop by the Arturo shop and show some love.

We need people like Sean Tucker, Tim MCGugan and the Arture Clothing company participating in the Riverside Arts Market. Our focus is diversity and creativity and these guys have lot of it. Hope this message gets to them.
